Phi Beta Kappa (ΦBK)
I was inducted on my sister’s birthday, nice

I am extremely thankful for the Phi Beta Kappa UCLA chapter for considering me and selecting me to be a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society. This honestly came as a surprise, because I think I was about to check my transcript, then I read the notice from my.ucla.com, saying that I am eligible to be in an honor society of some sorts.
First I thought it was one of those scammy honor societies that sends everyone an email and asks for $100 and call it a day. Then I asked my friend Isaac, who started looking on Linkedin and decided that nah, it’s the real deal. I started reading the invitation letter, and a lot of credible sites like Reddit (yeah), and the reception has been positive.
That’s how I decided to pay the $100 dollars, and as of May 20th, I am officially a member at the Phi Beta Kappa society.
I believe the reason I was inducted was due to my 3 years of Japanese education (Japanese 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 100A, 100B, 100C) [p/np doesn’t matter]; 2 years of German education (German 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6); and 2 years of Ethnomusicology with Professor Li (Ethnomusicology 68A, 168A).
Some may be laughing at me for paying $100 for nothing. Oh well, at least I paid $100 to be in the same honor society as 17 presidents of the United freakin States. And Jeff Bezos too.
Extremely honored.
