Strings (Erhu)
I learned Erhu in Grade 1-3 at Yu Hua Elementary School
It was a mandatory class for students. Boys Erhu, girls Zheng. After that I stopped playing. It is a hard instrument to play, because there isn’t exactly a place for you to place your fingers for exact sound production, very much like Violin, except there are only 2 strings.
After coming to UCLA, I picked it back up, and performed in our Ethnomusicology 68A class. After that, I was bumped to Ethnomusicology 168A, but playing percussion. That’s why I have stopped playing it
