Guitar
Rage buying? Lacking a better word for it
Buying a guitar, for me, was at the spur of the moment. When my family goes clothes shopping at the Ontario Mills Outlets store, I saw an ukelele. I wanted to get the ukelele, but my dad said: “if you are really going to buy an ukelele, than I think you should buy the guitar directly instead.” And that kids, is how I bought my first ever guitar, Yamaha AC1M.
Lol, a little HIMYM reference there. To tell you the truth, half of the reason why I wanted a guitar in the first place, was because of the show HIMYM. You have no idea what that show has done in my life. Anyways, the song, “The Wind”, used in Season 7 Episode 23, really left a good impression on me. I wanted to play the song so bad, but at the time I didn’t know how to play the guitar.
If you see my recent album covers, they all featured this guitar. It’s super cool.
Learned @ Guitar Center
After putting my guitar at a corner to collect dust, I finally picked it up and went to guitar center to learn how to play the guitar. If you see the video on the right (or anywhere on the website, because mobile is driving me crazy), you can see that when I started learning guitar, I was still fat; that’s why I had to use the animation face coverings to cover by fat.
Anyways, guitar was fun. It left some huge marks on my fingers, that’s for sure, but playing music with it is super fun. But the real reason I wanted to learn guitar and how I perfected the “amateur” level, is with the song, “The Wind”. This song is the most peaceful guitar song I have ever heard, and I was instantly in love with it.
The Wind, my dream, fulfilled
If you look on the right, and again, wherever the video is on phones, you can see a crappy video I made of that song. It was so bad I planned on not releasing it, but after thinking that maybe I should show it to the world, just to show my progress! Honestly though this version is so crappy, after finishing both covers on “The Wind” and “The Wind with Classical Guitar”, I almost puked after listening to it. But progress matters, right!
Ironically, since I played crappy guitar back then, I couldn’t sing and play at the same time unless I want it to be even crappier. That’s how I got onboard of “recording voice first, then video” setup. It should be noted that it is the first time I used Final Cut Pro to edit audio. As you can hear, the sound is pretty bad, and the video is pretty crappy too, with MacBook’s crappy 720p camera at night. Seriously, compare this with what I have done in June 28th of 2020, you’ll see progress.
Plus, compare the two videos. I lost all that weight yo.
